The Top Ten Scary Moments In Horror Movies

Horror Movies are certainly popular these days and I have to say that I am a fan. I love watching horror movies looking for that perfect scary moment - you know the type. You are sitting there with a lap full of popcorn and your lady at your side, when suddenly something happens that makes her jump clean out of her seat? Most people have had this experience at least a time or two and being scared helps us to feel alive. That is why we watch horror movies in the first place, right? To be scared?

Well, here are ten scary movie moments that are sure to put you in a state of high anxiety, and cause that lady to hold you a little tighter.

Keep in mind that I had to choose among the less gory movies out there due to Hubpages requiring no adult content. There are some others out there that are scarier to be sure, but these are pretty darn good as well.

Without a doubt, Jason Voorhees has given us a number of great jumps and scares over the years.  His best scary moment however was during the first movie in which he began killing - Friday the 13th Part 2.  Here is a classic scare to get this list off on the right foot!

No doubt we all have had nightmares about what lurks under our beds.  This scene certainly amplified my fears as a child, and occasionally as an adult.  I do not like clowns and particularly ones with really long arms.  Here is one that will freak you out.

By the time Chief Brodie and Hooper determine that the shark is still on the loose, it has already struck again.  In this classic scene from Jaws, Hooper gets much more than he expected when he decides to look into Ben Gardner's abandoned boat.

There are literally hundreds of moments across the Halloween movie series that could make this list, but the scene with Annie from the original is certainly one of the best.  Here is yet another scary moment from the greatest horror movie of all time - Halloween!

Stephen King - How could you?  I already mentioned my issue with clowns, and this one is the scariest of them all.  Without a doubt, the spookiest clown on the planet.

Not many people can watch this scene without it evoking some serious emotions.  It is amazing how well this horror movie classic holds up all these years later.  Classic Hitchcock at his very best.  

Bitten is a bit of a light way of putting it.  In the movie Deep Blue Sea, Samuel and the gang were being chased by genetically jacked up sharks.  Here comes dinner!

In the movie Anaconda with Jennifer Lopez, this is easily the best scene of the movie.  Just watch what happens when you try to climb a waterfall to avoid being eaten by a giant anaconda..... Just watch...

You thought she was gone eh?  This is a horror moment that will scare you no matter how many times you watch it.  Beware the hand of Carrie!

Pretty much the entire movie was spooky, but this part just sends chills up my spine.  Prepare to be scared!
